Cora O’Grady was a 51 years old woman who died after becoming ill while taking part in a climb with charlie event in Co Tipperary on April 03, 2022. She was revealed to have motor neuron disease, as a result of which she fell in the afternoon at around 1 pm while participating in a fund-raising event, and She was treated by paramedics at the scene but failed to regain consciousness and was pronounced dead around 2 pm.

She was from Lui na Greine, Ballinwillin, Mitchelstown, Co Cork, ireland and lived with her husband and two children, with whom she went climbing. She has an eleven-year-old son named Luke and an eight-year-old daughter named Lily. They were both comforted by relatives in Mitchelstown, who were shocked and saddened to learn of her death while ascending Galtymore.
Grady’s body was brought to University Hospital Waterford for an autopsy, where the reason of her death will be revealed. Her death came as a complete shock and was completely unexpected. Cora has been an active member of the community, particularly in the area of community development.

She was one of tens of thousands of supporters who collected €1.5 million for Mr Bird’s two charities by participating in climbs in Ireland. Mr Bird conveyed his condolences to Ms O’Grady’s family and friends on RTE’s Morning Ireland on Monday morning. South Tipperary Coroner’s Court will hold an inquest in due course.
